Not Everyone Will Survive

The news is rarely good, generally irrelevant to me and makes me feel hopeless/depressed. It's the last one that gets me, I can't do anything about things that happen. But I still watch, have I got a hunger for knowledge or just looking for something to talk about at work tomorrow, if someone dies what difference does it make that I know, is it anymore relevant when it happens locally (obviously if they're looking for someone and it's local you might recognise them so that may be important but otherwise), do I really need to be well informed? Surely most things I need to know are common sense anyway, but still I watch.
